Our roots were established by providing complete rehabilitation services to persons with work-related and other disabilities. We have been providing this under the firm name Assessment Center since 1987.
The Assessment Center is a state certified provider for the workers' compensation systems in Oregon, Washington and Alaska, and also provides services for California Qualified Injured Workers and state Vocational Rehabilitation agencies. We have worked with over 1,000 individual clients, and with our CRC credentials, offer a full range of services.

Job Analysis
Functional Analysis, Essential Tasks, Physical Demands, Modifications and other descriptors, all of which meet ADA, Workers' Compensation, and other standards. Precise measurements of demands are used for valid comparison of capacities and work release by the physician.
Early Return to Work/Time of Injury Employer Services
Most injured workers are able to return to their time-of-injury position or employer. We help employers implement and maintain an effective return to work program, and have a strong background of providing this for employers of all sizes. Strategies include development of a tracking and communication system, identification of suitable light duty positions, utilization of state incentive programs, close coordination with primary physician, worksite modifications of previous or new positions, and education and involvement of HR recruiters.
Worksite Modification
Whether used for time-of-injury or new positions, modifications of jobs are a cost effective and highly successful way to return the worker to work. We have evaluated, designed and set up worksite modifications for jobs in dozens of industries, have close ties with vendors for equipment, and were one of the first firms in Oregon selected to receive state approval as a provider of worksite modification services.
Job Development
We are one of the premiere providers in the region of job development services for injured workers and other rehabilitation clients. Our strength lies in combining years of experience in the workers' compensation field with the business-effective strategies learned through our Outplacement services. We were specially selected to train Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Department staff in effective job search, resume writing and interviewing skills. Our unique approach includes step-by-step strategies that involve the client and use methods proven to work.
Training Plan Development
When a client must change occupations, it is important to have a consultant who knows the types of occupations and resources to make it successful. Our extensive background in developing training plans provides us with that expertise. While formal training plans are sometimes required, most involve on-the-job training. We enjoy a high rate of successful completion and subsequent employment of training plans, and serve as Founder and Chair of the Advisory Committee for Lane Community College's Injured Worker Cooperative Work Program.
Self Employment Planning
Some state and other rehabilitation programs offer self-employment planning to their clients, but few rehabilitation counselors have this background. We have developed and evaluated several business plans, from coffee drive-throughs to management consultants to frog breeders! We have been guest panelists on a national radio broadcast for the self-employed, and our close ties with the world's largest seller of business planning tools help us to keep on the leading edge of this approach.
